Grandma Mortensen’s Sugar Cookies

1 cup shortening
3 cups sugar
2 cups sour cream
1/2 cup buttermilk
8 cups flour
dash salt
1 tsp vanilla
3 eggs
1 tsp soda
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp baking powder
Cream shortening and sugar. Fold in sour cream and buttermilk. Add vanilla and eggs. Combine dry ingredients and add. Use enough flour to make soft dough. Bake at 350 degrees.
