2002 Cowley Cookbook

2 cups brown sugar
2 cups white sugar
1 cup karo syrup
1 cup whipping cream
2 cubes margarine or butter
1 tbsp. vanilla

Combine all ingredients in a heavy pan. Mix well. Boil over medium heat to 235 degrees or soft ball stage. (Cook a little longer.) Pour into buttered 9 x 13″ pan to cool. Cut and wrap in waxed paper. These stay soft and chewy.

2002 Cowley Cookbook

4 pork chops
dash salt and pepper
2 T shortening
5 ounces spaghetti, cooked and drained
1 can tomato soup
1/2 can water
1 medium onion, chopped
1/4 pound cheese, grated

Sprinkle chops with salt and pepper, dredge with flour and brown in shortening. Put spaghetti in a casserole and add rest of ingredients. Cover with pork chops.  Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.

1-2 lbs ground beef or elk
3/4 lb bacon, cut in small pieces
1 large onion
2 can pork and beans
2 cans kidney beans (drained)
1 can lima beans (drained)
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar
3 T white vinegar
1 T Liquid Smoke
1 tsp salt
Dash pepper

Brown ground meat and bacon in pot and add the rest of the ingredients.
